Book Discussion: "Before Amen: The Power of Simple Prayer"
One of Max Lucado's best books. It is a journey to the very heart of biblical prayer, offering hope for doubts and confidence even for prayer wimps. Henry Oertel will facilitate the discussion, but the group will be the key to sharing and learning about the uncommon power of prayer. The group will meet every Sunday in the library, after the 9 am service, beginning on November 24 .
Book Discussion: "Breakfast with Buddha"
A novel - and it is NOT about Buddhism. An upstanding self-described solid Midwestern Protestant family man is sent on a trip with someone who challenges his skepticism about faith and religion. A journey of self-discovery. Doug Young will facilitate the discussion, but the group will be the key to sharing and learning about our own spiritual journey. The group will meet every Sunday in the meeting room of the office, after the 9 am service, beginning on November 24 .
Bible Discussion for Teenagers: "The Story"
A different way to study the Bible. "The Story" puts the Bible in chronological order which makes it much easier to read. And rather than a long boring lesson taught by an "expert", this will be a discussion, based on a DVD that prompts hard questions about scripture. Join Jake Mejia in the library after the 11 am service (about 12:30 pm), beginning November 24.
